President Goodluck Jonathan is currently meeting security chiefs at the Presidential Villa, Abuja in his bid to end the violence being experienced in some parts of the country.
The meeting which started a few minutes ago may consider the report of the committee the President set up about two weeks ago to look at the clamour for amnesty for members of the violent Islamic sect and its feasibility.
The committee was given two weeks to submit its report.
The latest meeting of security chiefs with Jonathan is coming less than 12 hours after the President met traditional rulers from the northern part of the country on the same issue of insecurity in the country.
The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company has refunded electricity credit worth N241.45m to 9,823 customers across its franchise areas as compensation for billing irregularities and regulatory infractions committed between June 2024 and January 2025. The refunds, processed as energy credits, follow directives issued by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission in line with consumer protection guidelines under the Meter Asset Provider scheme.
